Here’s how the Bengals make the playoffs

The Cincinnati Bengals (5-8) absolutely have no business making the NFL layoffs.

But there are a lot of things they had no business doing but have done after Joe Burrow arrived.

Now, with just a 3% chance of qualifying for the postseason, they’ll need some help.

As Jack Savage breaks down in this short video, the Bengals will need the following to happen:

The Broncos’ remaining games are home against the Colts, at the Los Angeles Chargers, at Cincinnati, and at home against the Kansas City Chiefs, who will likely be resting starters.

The Colts’ remaining games are at the Broncos, home against the Tennessee Titans, at the New York Giants, and home against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

And the Dolphins’ remaining games are at the Houston Texans, at home against the San Francisco 49ers, at the Cleveland Browns, and at the New York Jets.

If the Bengals lose to or tie the Titans this week and the Broncos beat or tie the Colts, it’s over for Cincinnati.

According to Bill Riccette, the Bengals can also be eliminated if they tie and the following also happen:

But if the Bengals beat the Titans, they cannot be eliminated in Week 15.

So, for this week at least, the Bengals just need to do their part.
