Arne Slot has been a revelation at Liverpool this season, with the Dutchman exceeding expectations having replaced Jurgen Klopp this summer.
The Reds sit top of both the Premier League and UEFA Champions League standings with Slot losing just one game in all competitions, with Liverpool on course for what could be one of their most successful seasons in years.
With Steve McManaman surprised by how well Slot has done in Europe this season, the former Feyenoord manager has taken England by storm and has evolved Liverpool into something few would have expected when Klopp left Anfield earlier this year.
And Joe Gomez has now shared what it’s like to play for Slot’s Liverpool this season.

Gomez enjoying ‘process’ of learning Slot’s system at Liverpool
Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, the England international revealed that he is enjoying the new systems Slot has put in place, though Gomez has admitted that the ‘process’ is still ongoing from a tactical standpoint.
With Kostas Tsimikas also saying that he’s enjoying Slot’s Liverpool system, the Dutch coach has seemingly struck a chord with a number of players on how he likes to play football and to set up his teams.
And Gomez is no different, with the 27-year-old defender saying when asked how he’s adapted to playing under Slot: “It is a process from a tactical standpoint. It is definitely not as straightforward as seeing a pass and playing it.

“A lot is about how we can get around the pitch and try not overload on one side and play with the ball a bit more. It has been great to learn. You just want to get better as a player and the coach is helping me and the rest of the boys to do that.”

What has Slot said about Gomez this season at Liverpool?
Gomez has enjoyed a good run out in the Liverpool starting XI in recent weeks with Ibrahima Konate out injured, and Slot has been impressed with what he’s seen from the former Charlton Athletic star.
The Dutch coach recently lauded Gomez as ‘special’ with the 27-year-old defender patiently waiting for his chance this season for the Reds having featured so much for Liverpool last campaign under Klopp.
Indeed, Gomez has thrived since returning to the field with Liverpool, and the more the defender plays, the more accustomed the England international will become of Slot’s tactics, which the centre-back seems to be enjoying.
