“This Has To Stop”: Jamie Carragher Makes Manchester City Premier League Prediction After 2-0 Juventus Defeat

Former Premier League defender Jamie Carragher has said that Manchester City won’t finish in the top three in the league.

He spoke after City’s 2-0 defeat to Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday night which was their second winless game in a row.

Furthermore, Pep Guardiola‘s side have only won one game in their previous 10 matches and are now at risk of elimination from the Champions League.

Carragher said on CBS that he doesn’t see City making the top three in the league and that they could struggle to get into the Champions League places.

He said: “The best coach in the world hasn’t got the answers for it. That tells you this is not a tactical problem, this is when players in a certain position, their legs go and no matter who you are as the manager, you can’t fix that.

“I think Manchester City have got a fight to be in this competition [Champions League] next season. I don’t think they finish in the top three of the Premier League above Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal. This has to stop very quickly. “

Manchester City with chance to improve in next five games

One of the only things that Pep Guardiola can hold onto at the minute is that his side has a relatively easy run of games through the Christmas period.

They first host Manchester rivals United in what will be the first Manchester derby of the season and a game where City will be desperate to get back to winning ways.

City then make the trip to play against an Aston Villa side who have also struggled over the past 10 games and aren’t as tricky a matchup as they are on paper.

Following that, they’ll return to the Etihad to play against relegation battling Everton as the early kick off on Boxing Day.

City then play Leicester City and West Ham in the Premier League who are both struggling in the bottom half of the table.

Finally, an intriguing FA Cup match against Manchester-based Salford City in the third round of the competition.
