Real Sociedad are reportedly keen on a discounted summer deal to sign current West Ham loanee Carlos Soler, according to Fichajes.

The report from the Spanish outlet (11 December) states that the La Liga outfit are “preparing their moves” ahead of the summer transfer window and Soler is a target who has “emerged strongly”.

It is understood that Sociedad will be looking at a discounted deal for Soler, who is on a season-long loan, with the Spanish side unable to afford the £16.4million price tag set by PSG due to the financial constraints at the club.

West Ham must explore Carlos Soler deal

Soler had a tough start to life at the London Stadium and failed to really showcase the level of ability he has throughout his career but a recent upturn in form has quickly seen him become a key figure for the Irons.

In a recent interview with AS, the Spaniard discussed life at West Ham and described the area as “magnificent” while hinting towards his desire to stay at the club.

His permanent addition would provide a big boost to the club whereas his summer departure would leave a hole that needs to be filled by someone else who would likely cost significantly more than the £16m wanted by PSG.

Pursuing a deal seems like a no-brainer for the Irons although the uncertainty over the future of Julen Lopetegui could act as a barrier ahead of any potential transfer.

If the Hammers don’t act, Sociedad seemingly will and it could be a huge loss to the Premier League side.

In other West Ham news, the Irons have been told to sign a potentially controversial midfielder after what happened recently.
