Leicester transfer target is currently running rampant in Champions League

A recently emerged Leicester transfer target is currently running rampant in the Champions League. Can the Foxes still sign Anis Hadj Moussa?

We are nearing the halfway point of December. Not only is this your reminder to do your Christmas shopping (guilty...) but it's also your reminder that the January transfer window is just around the corner.

So, hopefully, the Leicester owners will gift fans of the club in the new year. It hasn't been a common occurrence in recent seasons but we can always cross our fringers, right?

Well, recent Leicester transfer target Anis Hadj Moussa might be difficult to pick up, given his incredible form of late.

Earlier this month, The Sun linked Leicester to the potential signing of Anis Hadj Moussa, who currently plays for Feyenoord. It is believed that the Foxes will face competition from Tottenham Hotspur.

At the time of those links, Anis Hadj Moussa was in good form, hence why he was picking up interest from the Premier League. Admittedly, it did help that he had only just scored against Man City in the UEFA Champions League.

Since then, Moussa has only continued his rich form. He has scored six goals in his last seven games across all competitions - This features three consecutive goals in the Champions League, by the way.

Therefore, it is hard to believe that Leicester City can pull this transfer out of the bag given their resources. Look, I'd be more than open to being proven wrong here but it looks like Leicester might have to focus their attention elsewhere.

Considering he is Ruud van Nistelrooy's countryman, it does feel like the fairtytale signing. After all, the two would have an exceptional working relationship and it would solve Leicester's problems out wide, with Fatawu injured.

The Algeria international has only recently broke into the Feyenoord starting lineup. The Dutch side were hesistant to use him at the start of this season but his appearances from the bench became impossible to ignore.

This only adds to my belief that he will be a hard player to sign, especially in January. It is within Feyenoord's best interest to keep him as he is one of their best players currently. This means they can afford to lump a premium price tag on him, or completely ignore any and all offers which come in.
