Chelsea have been told to resist the opportunity to re-sign Mohamed Salah if he becomes a free agent at the end of the season.
The 32-year-old is just weeks away from entering the final six months of his Liverpool contract and, as it stands, will be free to walk away from the club at the end of the season.
Earlier this week, The Athletic claimed Salah, whose first stint in the Premier League came with Chelsea in 2014, had finally been offered a contract by the Anfield hierarchy.
The reported breakthrough in negotiations between Salah and Liverpool comes just weeks after the Egyptian claimed he was "more out than in" as far as his future at the club was concerned.
But former Chelsea defender Gallas, has urged his former side not to consider a move for Salah if he is unable to resolve his future at Anfield.
"I think Chelsea should reject the chance to sign Mohamed Salah as a free agent this summer, I think he would be a disruption on the squad," Gallas told Prime Casino.
"The current Chelsea team are all learning and growing together and it’s working for Enzo Maresca. They are all part of a generation with no big egos, despite Cole Palmer being the focal point.
"I think bringing in a player like Salah wouldn’t be good for the balance of the squad, despite his form in the Premier League and how it would weaken Liverpool."
Salah, who has scored 227 goals for Liverpool since signing in 2017, made just 19 appearances for Chelsea before being sold to AS Roma in 2016.
