'Working hard' - Sean Dyche says 20y/o Everton ace has impressed him heavily in training

Everton will travel to north London to face Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Toffees are 15th in the table with 14 points, but James Tarkowski is confident they can get a positive result against the Gunners.

The confidence in the team should be high following their 4-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Sean Dyche will be pleased to find that several Everton players are now back in training after nursing their injuries.

Ahead of the match, the Toffees boss spoke about Youssef Chermiti. The 20-year-old exciting striker has only returned to training a few weeks back and he has been playing with the reserve team to build his fitness.

Dyche confirmed that Chermiti, Seamus Coleman, Nathan Patterson, Jake O’Brien and Armando Broja all featured in a behind-closed-doors friendly this week. The Toffees boss says that Chermiti is “working hard”, and he has impressed in training.

“His first steps are on the way now, in fact, more than his first steps,” said Dyche.

“He had a very good pre-season. Very unfortunate he got the injury. He’s worked very hard to get himself fit.

“We will take it on an ongoing basis. He is training really well and working hard.”

Everton team news v Arsenal

Armando Broja made his first appearance for Everton in the cameo role against Wolves, but it looks like Chermiti will have to wait for a few more weeks to get some minutes.

Michael Keane is back in training after he missed the previous game with a minor injury. The highly experienced defender is out of contract in the summer, and doubts remain whether he will be offered a new deal.

He is in contention for a place in Dyche’s squad, but whether the former Burnley man will make the starting XI remains to be seen.

Tim Iroegbunam (foot) and James Garner (back) are long-term absentees, but they are recovering well.
