The latest injury and absence news for Liverpool ahead of their upcoming Premier League clash.

Liverpool will return to Premier League action on Saturday after missing out on the Merseyside Derby last weekend. Storm Darragh forced the first red on blue action of the season to be postponed until the new year, giving Arne Slot’s side some time for extra rest between fixtures.

During their midweek clash, Liverpool kept their perfect Champions League run alive with a 1-0 win over Girona. Thanks to a Mohamed Salah penalty, the Reds remain top of the table, yet to drop a single point. The clash also saw the long-awaited return of Alisson, who enjoyed a strong performance and a clean sheet to mark his comeback from injury.

While the Brazilian may be back between the sticks, Liverpool still have some injury concerns on their roster. We’ve rounded up the latest news and listed the players’ potential return dates ahead of the Reds’ clash with Fulham this weekend.

Alexis Mac Allister

While the Argentine is fortunately not injured, he will miss Saturday’s clash through suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season. He was initially meant to miss the Everton clash but it has been brought forward due to the rescheduling. Potential return date: December 22nd (vs Tottenham)

Ibrahima Konaté

Ibrahima Konaté recently posted a photo of himself in Liverpool training gear but it is still unclear when he will make his return to the pitch.

Slot said at the start of the month about both Konaté and Conor Bradley: “They will both be out for a few weeks. I have said many times before, it's always difficult to judge how many weeks this exactly is because you can think in the beginning it'll be like this and then the end stage of an injury process can always differ a bit.” Potential return date: Late December/early January.

Conor Bradley

Losing Conor Bradley was a blow for Liverpool but Trent Alexander-Arnold returned just in time for the Reds to avoid a catastrophe in the right-back position. As Bradley recovers from a hamstring problem, it looks as though he is facing a similar timeline to Konaté. He’s a player with a huge future ahead of him once he gets back to full fitness. Potential return date: Late December/early January.

Kostas Tsimikas

During the same conversation as his update on Konaté and Bradley on December 1st, Slot said he did not imagine Kostas Tsimikas would be available for the following week. With no mention in the squad against Girona either, could he make his return before the new year? Meanwhile, Liverpool are said to be looking for a new left-back ahead of the January transfer window. Potential return date: Late December.

Diogo Jota

While Liverpool have enjoyed raking in the wins and scoring goals, the influence of Diogo Jota has still been a miss in attack. The Portuguese international has been out since October but recently returned to training. Slot said Jota is ‘close to being back’ during his pre-Everton conference, so there is a chance he could be included in the squad this weekend. Potential return date: December 14th (vs Fulham)

Federico Chiesa

Similar to Jota, Slot provided a blanket update that Federico Chiesa - who some argued was the bargain signing of last summer - is ‘close’ to returning to action for the Reds. Alisson was also included in this update ahead of the postponed Everton game, and he has since made his return to the team. Potential return date: December 14th (vs Fulham)
