Trent Alexander-Arnold names the one Arsenal legend he wishes he could’ve played with

Trent Alexander-Arnold has played with some incredible attacking players during his career.

From Harry Kane to Mohamed Salah, Alexander-Arnold has been very fortunate to be paired with some brilliant attackers over the years.

Alexander-Arnold says he feels lucky to play with Salah, while the right-back has also praised Sadio Mane in the past.

Alexander-Arnold has had the pleasure of playing with some all-time greats, but speaking to JD Sports, the defender was asked which player from another team he’d most like to play with.

The full-back didn’t hesitate when giving his answer, claiming that he really would’ve loved to have played with former Arsenal star, Thierry Henry.

Trent Alexander-Arnold wishes he played with Thierry Henry

Alexander-Arnold spoke highly of the Arsenal legend.

The full-back says that Henry’s pace would make him a seriously good teammate alongside his incredible passing ability.

Cesc Fabregas recently compared Henry to Lionel Messi, so it’s fair to say the Frenchman was talented in his heyday.

“Who is one player from another player you wish you’d played with?

“It always has to be Thierry Henry. When you have a passer like me and a player with that sort of speed, it’s long,” Alexander-Arnold said.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s most prolific partnerships

Unfortunately, Alexander-Arnold has never had the chance to play with Henry, but he has managed to forge some incredible partnerships during his career.

Indeed, Alexander-Arnold is an assist machine, and he’s forged some brilliant partnerships over the years.

Mohamed Salah 18

Sadio Mane 13

Diogo Jota 10

Roberto Firmino 9

Virgil van Dijk 7

Interestingly, Virgil van Dijk is one of Alexander-Arnold’s most prolific partners, and that is due to his incredible aerial ability from set-pieces.

If Alexander-Arnold did play with Henry, that’s something that the pair would certainly have struggled with.

If there was one weakness in Henry’s game, it was his heading ability.

Henry scored 73 times for Arsenal in the Premier League before he managed his first header – quite the disparity.

Alexander-Arnold’s crosses would’ve been wasted if Henry was up front, and while Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino don’t quite have the heading ability of someone like Didier Drogba, they were all still very decent in the air.

Perhaps the Alexander-Arnold – Henry partnership wouldn’t have been as good as Alexander-Arnold thinks it would have been.
