Everton fans can start to get excited with their new owners closing in on their proposed takeover at Goodison Park.
The action on the pitch has left a lot to be desired with the fans preparing for another relegation battle after a difficult start.
But there are more promising times ahead with The Friedkin Group expected to complete their takeover next week on Merseyside.
Everton look set to be going into the New Year with Farhad Moshiri being replaced as the owner of the club.
Plenty of potential buyers have come and gone, but it does finally look as if The Friedkin Group have won the battle.

How The Friedkin Group beat John Textor to purchasing Everton
It now seems just a matter of time until the Friedkins get the keys to the club, with John Textor one of the disappointed parties to miss out.
Textor admitted he was so close to buying Everton and even took to television interviews to share what he was going to do with the club.
However, Sky Sports have now suggested it is the Friedkins’ discretion which has been welcomed by Moshiri and those at Everton in the race to buy the Toffees.

“There is a stark difference to how TFG have gone about their business in the drawn out and complex process of buying a Premier League club compared to what preceded them – especially with the often unique nature of Everton Football Club, with its financial issues, problems on the pitch and wonderful reality of a new stadium in an iconic location,” said Alan Myers.
“TFG have worked relentlessly and diligently over a number of months, quietly and professionally with no noise, no promises of utopia or briefings of such.
“They have maintained a level-headed approach to a drama which needed that in spades.”
That is not to say The Friedkin Group have not been preparing in the background, just because they have not made it public.
Everton News understands Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell are both expected to be sacked when the new ownership lands at Goodison.
Roma fans are not pleased with The Friedkin Group
There will be natural excitement around Everton as the new ownership closes in on their full takeover of the club.
However, the Friedkins already have experience owning a football club with the American billionaire currently at the helm of AS Roma.
But it has not exactly been smooth sailing with some Roma fans frustrated by the current state of the club.
“There is a tense atmosphere which has come from the Friedkins – whether they realise it or not – disrespecting a club legend,” one fan told BBC Sport.
“The fans are angry. Many of them are saying: ‘Sell us – because in four years you have clearly misunderstood what we are all about’.”
The Friedkins are already plotting January transfers at Everton with some big improvements needed following a difficult start to the campaign.
But Everton fans will need time to form their own opinions.
