Belief player has ‘already lost’ too much time and could now ‘push’ for Newcastle United exit

Last night, it was reported that Sandro Tonali wants to leave Newcastle United and that something has broken in the relationship between the midfielder and the Magpies.

The Italian press hasn’t let go of the opportunity to talk about Tonali’s situation further and Calciomercato have looked at the state of affairs in more detail.

They believe that the 24-year-old could be a key man in the transfer window once again and the feeling is that the Italian has never quite settled at Newcastle United.

His suspension didn’t help and he now finds himself behind Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes in the midfield pecking order at St James’ Park. Due to that, the player feels that he has ‘already lost’ a lot of time at Newcastle.

That is why he could now ‘push’ to depart the club. A permanent sale in January seems very complicated because Tonali has a contract till the summer of 2028, but an initial loan deal could be worked out.

To rejoin AC Milan, the Azzurri midfielder will have to accept a salary reduction and the move will take a lot of willingness and pushing from his end.

Inter Milan and Juventus are interested parties but the economic feasibility of a move back to Italy is questioned in the report.
