Fabio Paratici is “highly appreciated” at Everton as The Friedkin Group aim to make changes behind the scenes, according to TEAMtalk.

The news outlet reported on 12 December that the former Tottenham chief is respected due to his ability to negotiate with high-level players as he did while bringing Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus.

The Italian is, however, a controversial figure as he was given a 30-month ban for alleged financial malpractice.

Fabio Paratici must not be at Everton if he is indeed guilty

If Paratici is indeed found guilty of the financial improprieties he’s accused of, it would be prudent for The Friedkin Group to steer clear of him in their efforts to rebuild the club.

The last thing they need is the shadow of controversy hanging over their project, especially when aiming to restore stability and credibility to the club.

Associating with a figure banned for alleged financial malpractice could tarnish the club’s reputation, undermine fan trust and potentially lead to further scrutiny from football governance bodies.

Everton’s supporters, already through turbulent times, would likely view the appointment of such a controversial figure as a step backwards.

The Friedkin Group, once the takeover is finalised, must prioritise transparency and ensure that any leadership or strategic roles within the club reflect the values they wish to instil.

Hopefully, the Americans do their due diligence and only then go ahead with bringing Paratici to the club.
