And that remains the case, with TEAMtalk providing an update on Manchester United’s search for Dan Ashworth’s successor.
According to TEAMtalk reporter Ben Jacobs, Manchester United are not planning to approach Paul Mitchell about swapping St James’ Park for Old Trafford, despite previously being keen.
They add that Mitchell is not looking to leave Newcastle United, having only just started working as the Magpies’ sporting director in July.

It would be an absolute farce if Newcastle United lost another sporting director to Manchester United. Thankfully, Mitchell is going nowhere.

Instead, he is fully focussed on ensuring Newcastle progress as a club, after a tough start to life in the North East.
