Nottingham Forest defeated Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday to claim victory in that fixture for the first time in 30 years.
The Reds won courtesy of goals from Nikola Milenkovic, Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood, with the team now sitting in fifth place in the division.
Forest will be hoping to get more points on the board this weekend when Aston Villa come to the East Midlands and either way it’s been a great start.
One man in fine form is Chris Wood who now has 10 goals to his name this season.
Wood was hailed by Nuno Espirito Santo after his heroics at United and he’s very much the main source of goals in the Forest team.

Nathan Tyson believes Steve Cooper mistreated Chris Wood at Forest
Tyson served Forest with distinction during his time as a player, helping the club to back-to-back play-off campaigns in the Championship.
Playing either as a striker or as a winger, he always gave his all and he’s not been happy with some of the stick that Wood has received previously at Forest.
Furthermore, he doesn’t think his case was helped previously by the fact that Steve Cooper never picked him.

He told Notts TV: “I’ve been a big fan of his and I didn’t like how he was getting stick. I looked at it and thought he’s a good player who just needs the right manager and the right service. He’s a big lad, you don’t see many of those in football these days and dead proud to see that he’s banging the goals in and working really hard for the team.”
Furthermore, Charlie McParland has backed him up and he’s also delighted for Wood.
He added: “I’d like to congratulate Chris Wood on breaking the record held by Bryan Roy. When he came in, a lot of fans were not having him, and Cooper didn’t play him. He’s been instrumental in the progression and staying in the Premier League, his work rate is unbelievable.”
Forest must give Wood a new contract
At 33, Wood is still finding the way to goal and in the Premier League that makes him the envy of many clubs.
Having goals in your team is always a must in the top flight and Forest have hit the jackpot by landing Wood.
It’s taken some time but it’s hard to disagree with Tyson when he questions whether or not he was really being utilised properly under Cooper.
Now, he’s transformed himself under Espirito Santo and Forest have to do whatever it takes to get him a new deal sorted.
Wood can’t be allowed to walk away for nothing and Forest need to act ahead of the January window reopening.
