Rangers manager Philippe Clement will have had one eye on Carney Chukwuemeka after he was named in the Chelsea starting line-up to play Astana on Thursday.
The England Under-21 international has been looked at by the Gers on a potential January deal as they look to bolster their midfield options.
The 21-year-old could complete a move to Ibrox at the perfect time as Clement’s side has gone eight games without defeat.
Despite looking ahead to a Europa League clash against Tottenham on Thursday night (12 December), the Belgian manager will have seen Chelsea win 3-1 in Khazakstan, with Chukwuekmeka playing 67 minutes.

The Englishman started alongside Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in what could prove to be his final appearance in a Chelsea shirt.
His showing in Kazakhstan could prove to be enough to tempt Clement into making a winter move for the midfielder to add to his squad.
