PSG have already tabled an offer worth £75 million to sign Manchester United academy graduate Marcus Rashford but it won’t be enough.
According to a report from Fichajes, PSG are keen on acquiring the services of Marcus Rashford as they look to add more quality to their attack. They have already made the first move towards bringing the English international to Paris with a £75 million offer.
Rashford’s contract at the Manchester-based club runs until the summer of 2028 but recent reports suggest that the United academy graduate could soon part ways with the club.
The 27-year-old English winger was at his best during the 2022/23 season but things have only gone downhill for him since. He has struggled to have the kind of impact he had last season. Rashford is no longer an automatic starter at the club and is currently fighting to prove himself under new boss Ruben Amorim.
He is not happy with his performances as well as his status in the squad. Rashford has been contemplating his future for the last 12 months and he could soon push for a move away from the club. While he is a key figure at United, they are also open to a move as long as their demands are met.
The English international’s departure will not only bring in a massive transfer fee, but it will also be a huge boost for their wage bill. PSG have emerged as a potential destination for the 27-year-old. While Barcelona are also considering making a move for him, the Ligue 1 giants are pushing hard to secure his services.
PSG’s initial offer won’t be enough
While the French club have made a significant shift in recent years having parted ways with all their big-name players, they are once again looking to make a statement signing. People at the club want to ensure Luis Enrique has everything he needs to succeed in Europe as well as domestically.
They are seeking a world-class forward and Rashford perfectly fits the bill. PSG have already submitted a £75 million offer but it won’t be good enough as United want at least £100 million to part ways with their academy graduate.
With the French club’s offer falling short, negotiations are expected to continue for a while now. PSG will have to flex their financial muscles and break the bank if they do want to land the United star in their squad.
