‘This will be quite straightforward’: Chris Sutton makes bullish Newcastle United vs Leicester…

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League this weekend.

Newcastle suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Brentford away from home at the Gtech Community Stadium in the Premier League last weekend.

The Magpies will take on Leicester City in the league on Saturday. The match will be held at St. James’ Park.

Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has backed Newcastle to ease to a 3-0 win against Leicester.

Chris Sutton backs Newcastle United to beat Leicester City

Sutton wrote on BBC Sport: “I did not like the way Leicester treated Steve Cooper but they have definitely had a bounce since appointing Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has made the start he desired.

“It is fair to say that Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has not had the season he wanted so far, but any team who can beat Arsenal and draw with Liverpool must have something about them.

“Howe’s side have been consistently inconsistent, but they are not far off becoming the team he wants them to be.

“I am expecting them to click here, and I actually think this will be quite straightforward for them.

“Sutton’s prediction: 3-0”

Newcastle are favourites to win

Although Newcastle are not in good form at the moment, they will head into the Premier League match against Leicester as favourites.

The Magpies have the better team and are in a better position in the Premier League table. Howe’s side are 12th with 20 points from 15 matches.

Newcastle, linked with PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko, are seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City and could still launch a challenge for the UEFA Champions League places.

Leicester are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season. Yes, the Foxes have picked up four points from their last two Premier League games, but they are still only five points above the bottom three.

Leicester have conceded 30 goals in 15 Premier League games. Newcastle have not been great defensively either. They have let in 21 goals in 15 league matches so far this season.
