SAINTS defender Jan Bednarek quipped that he hopes to share a testimonial with Jack Stephens as he approaches a decade at the club.
Bednarek, 28, joined Saints back in 2017 from Polish outfit Lech Poznań and recently signed a new deal which could keep him at the club until 2027.
Bednarek is available to face Spurs on Sunday after a spell on the sidelines and is now considered a key player by Russell Martin, despite what he recalls as a difficult first year.
After making his debut in a League Cup game against Wolves, he had to wait until April for his maiden Premier League appearance.
Stephens partnered Bednarek in defence during that 2-0 defeat to Wolves. The pair, alongside Alex McCarthy, are the only surviving players from that squad.

Bednarek admitted he regularly jokes with Stephens that the pair will share a joint testimonial.
“We have had a laugh together that we will play a testimonial together because we are always together,” said Bednarek
“My whole career at Southampton have been with Stevo. We both have great memories together, we’ve had a great time together.
“I would say our partnership is pretty good. We understand each other really well. I’m really happy that we can share moments together.”
He continued: “I want to keep on going. I’m really grateful to the club. I signed the contract extension, everyone is happy.
“Not many Polish players could play in the Premier League so I take it as a privilege and a great chance for me to be here and create good memories for my family.”
Bednarek has made 232 appearances for Saints. He left the club briefly for a loan spell at Aston Villa before returning in January 2023.
