Barcelona appear to be closing in on a move for Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah who could arrive on a free transfer in the summer window.
The rumor mill has claimed a [Barca deal for Tah is “practically completed”](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2024/12/5/24314188/barcelona-deal-for-jonathan-tah-practically-completed-after-decos-trip-to-germany) and he’ll head to Catalunya at the end of the season.
If Tah does arrive then he will add to Hansi Flick’s defensive options, and his arrival will also mean a couple of departures are needed.
Diario Sport are reporting that Barca have already defended on the four center-backs they want to have in the squad next season: Pau Cubarsi, Ronald Araujo, Inigo Martinez and Tah.
And that of course means they are willing to offload Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen as they don’t see the duo having minutes.
Eric is already struggling for game time this season, and there’s been speculation he could move on in January if decent offers arrive.
Christensen is still out injured, [and has insisted he wants to stay](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2024/11/29/24308705/andreas-christensen-responds-to-talk-hes-on-his-way-out-of-barcelona), but it does appear that Tah’s arrival would be bad news for the Denmark international.
