Lyon eased past Turkish side Galatasaray 6-0 as they continued their dominant UWCL form. There were five different goalscorers – and an own goal to former Central Coast Mariners player Jazmin Wardlow – as the French giants dominated. Ellie Carpenter assisted the first goal and played the full match, creating four chances, the most of any player in this season's group stage.

Chelsea also hit their opponents for six, defeating FC Twente 6-1. This time there were six different goalscorers for Chelsea, while Kayleigh van Dooren scored a consolation penalty for Twente. Daniela Galic was an unused substitute for the Dutch side while Sam Kerr remains unavailable for Chelsea.

Alessia Russo scored a brace as Arsenal overcame Vålerenga Fotball 3-1. Caitlin Foord picked up two assists as the Gunners comfortably defeated their Norwegian opponents. Foord and Kyra Cooney-Cross both started for Arsenal, while Steph Catley was an unused substitute after starting in the WSL.

Manchester City were in full control as they defeated St. Pölten 2-0. Youngster Lily Murphy scored in her first start for the club before Kerstin Casparij’s goal made sure of the result. Mary Fowler and Alanna Kennedy both started and played the full match for City.

England

The WSL continues with the final matches before the winter break this weekend.

Leicester City take on Chelsea on Saturday, 11pm AEDT. The Foxes are currently equal-last on the table and any point against the defending champions would be a massive result for their season. Courtney Nevin will be available for Leicester, while Sam Kerr remains unavailable for Chelsea.

Brighton & Hove Albion host Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, 4.30am AEDT. Brighton have had a promising start to the season but Spurs will pose a number of challenges to the high-flying Seagulls. Charli Grant, Clare Hunt and Hayley Raso will all be available for Tottenham.

Manchester City will hope to continue their good form when they take on Everton on Sunday, 11.30pm AEDT. City will go into the match as heavy favourites, but Everton will be hoping that they can capitalise on some potential fatigue after their UWCL fixture. Mary Fowler and Alanna Kennedy will be available for City, while Clare Wheeler is expected to line up in midfield for Everton.

Aston Villa and West Ham battle in another crucial fixture in the relegation battle on Monday, 1am AEDT. The Hammers will be bolstered by their victory last week and will be looking to make it successive wins against fellow strugglers Villa. Katrina Gorry will be available for West Ham after her heroics last week.

Liverpool travel to take on Arsenal on Monday, 1.30am AEDT. Arsenal need to be almost perfect to lay a glove on the top two of City and Chelsea, but Liverpool presents a potential banana peel to navigate before the break. Teagan Micah will be available in goals for Liverpool while the trio of Steph Catley, Caitlin Foord and Kyra Cooney-Cross are available for the Gunners.

You can catch all of the WSL live and on demand on Optus Sport.

France

Lyon host Nantes on Sunday, 7am AEDT. They will need to ensure that there are no more slip-ups as PSG remain hot on their tail. Ellie Carpenter will be available at right-back for the French champions.

Germany

TSG Hoffenheim take on SGS Essen in a crucial mid-table clash on Monday, 4.30am AEDT. Three points for Hoffenheim will see them lift significantly above the relegation zone and head into the winter break keeping pace with the teams above them. Jamilla Rankin will be available for Hoffenheim.
