Our round-up of the latest Premier League transfer rumours, featuring news from Chelsea, Arsenal & Bournemouth.
It’s time for Friday’s round-up of the biggest new Premier League transfer rumours – and we’ll start things off today with a story from Stamford Bridge, courtesy of Chelsea journalist Simon Phillips’ Substack.
He claims that “contact has been made” with Ipswich Town over the potential signing of 21-year-old Liam Delap, who has enjoyed an impressive start to life as a Premier League starter, bagging six goals so far in the top flight.
Although conversations are taking place, that doesn’t seem to mean that a bid for Delap is nailed on – apparently a new centre-back is also a priority, and there are other players on the shortlist. It “remains to be seen” whether Chelsea will try to do any business in the January transfer window, or whether all this planning is for the summer.
The 3AM Verdict: We suspect it’s the summer, because unless Chelsea sell a few players, they’ll have no chance of being able to make new signings without blowing up their profit and sustainability position. It’s not clear how much Delap might cost or whether he’s the number one target, but despite a recent downturn in form it’s apparent that Enzo Maresca and his transfer team are keen.
Arsenal after budding Brazilian
News from TBR Football now – they claim (partly citing a Brazilian media report) that Arsenal are “looking likely” to strike a deal for 18-year-old starlet Vitor Reis from Palmeiras.
The teenager has been a regular starter at centre-back for the Brazilian side and his form has alerted the Gunners, who are now in “constant discussions” with the player’s representatives. A January deal is possible, but apparently Palmeiras would prefer to make it happen in the summer as they believe they would get more money – the article claims that he could be available for £29m.
The 3AM Verdict: We suspect we’re looking at the summer here, too, for similar reasons to those which make us believe that Chelsea won’t do much business over the winter. This is the first time we’ve seen this link so we have no clear picture of how true it might be, but Vitor Reis is an undeniably massive talent and a very capable defender with and without the ball.

Bournemouth man set for exit
Finally, a story for some south coast fans – according to Sport Witness, who have it from the Spanish media, Bournemouth forward Enes Ünal could leave the club this winter as he wants to leave in order to get regular game time, even though he only signed permanently this summer.
Apparently he could join Getafe on loan and is “very close” to striking such a deal, but Sevilla are interested too. The Turkey international scored 30 league goals in two seasons for Getafe before signing for the Cherries, but has found himself stuck behind Evanilson in the queue for minutes.
The 3AM Verdict: Ünal’s stats are pretty impressive and he looks like a very handy back-up striker, but if he’s prepared to put up a fuss to get some regular starts then it may well make more sense for all parties to move on. No word on what the finances would look like.
