“Energy and aggression” – Former Chelsea player compares current Blues man to Luis Suarez

One former Chelsea player has compared one of the current crop to former Liverpool and Barcelona forward, Luis Suarez, after his recent performance.

Chelsea had no problems going to Astana last night and beating them 3-1 to continue their 100% record in the Europa Conference League.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea make club-to-club contact to sign new Premier League striker!!

Even though Enzo Maresca decided to leave all of his starting first team Xl at home all bar Pedro Neto who is suspended for Sunday’s Premier League game against Brentford, they still had a very comfortable win and completely bossed and dominated the game.

The bench literally just had academy players on it, and the in the starting Xl it was full of Chelsea ‘B-team’ players and then three rising academy stars.

Striker Marc Guiu scored two quick goals to get the ball rolling for The Blues, quite literally, and after that it was pretty much plain sailing from there even if Astana did enjoy a slightly better period in the second half.

The next Suarez?

Former Blues man Joe Cole was in the TNT Sports studio speaking on the game, and he compared Guiu to Luis Suarez.

‘He must have watched Luis Suarez as a young man at Barcelona,’ Cole said of Guiu on TNT Sports.

‘He has great movement. He was a thorn in the side throughout the game. I love him.

‘He will give you energy and aggression. This kid is 18 and how big and strong he will be when he gets older. Chelsea have a real gem there.’

Speaking more generally about Chelsea’s impressive form, Cole added: ‘I’m happy to go on record to say that there will be a title challenge coming from Chelsea if everything goes well in the next couple of months.

‘There aren’t many weaknesses in this team now and it’s credit to Enzo Maresca. Everything is rosy at the moment for them.’
