Nearly two years have passed since Anthony Gordon departed Everton and made the move to Newcastle United.
It proved to be a solid deal for Everton who were able to bring in around £45m for the England international.
However, it was not a pretty transfer saga as Gordon pushed for a move away from Goodison Park during the January window of 2023.
Despite a summer filled with transfer speculation, Gordon has even signed a new contract at Newcastle recently.
And his latest comments could now be seen to completely contradict what he did during the latter stages of his time as an Everton player

What Anthony Gordon has said about leaving Newcastle?
Everton fans have already been stirred up by their former winger with Gordon admitting Liverpool have the best atmosphere in the league.
It was claimed over the summer that Gordon was keen to sign for Liverpool, with the Reds looking to prise him away from Newcastle.
However, the 23-year-old already seems to be backtracking as he has now said he just wants to be left to enjoy his football.

“Just leave me to play football! I just want to be happy and play football. I’m happy here, I’ve said plenty of times.”
“It’s took me away from enjoying my football and I think that’s where the inconsistencies have come from because I’ve got caught in that. I just want to play football and especially for Newcastle.”
Gordon recently missed a penalty against Everton at Goodison which went down extremely well with the Everton faithful.
But his attitude over reportedly wanting to leave Newcastle shows a huge difference to how he approached his departure from Merseyside.
Anthony Gordon pushed hard for Everton exit
This was not the case at all when Gordon was tangled up in Everton exit speculation as the winger decided to skip training to force a move.
Three days of training Gordon missed in order to push through his move to Tyneside, but he is now suggesting he is not wanting to be involved in any transfer talk.
Gordon said he wants to play at the very top which is why he felt he needed to push through a move to Newcastle.
However, he is far from playing at the top level with the Geordies sat just six points and three places above Everton currently.
Hearing Gordon offer Newcastle fans what they want to hear after a summer of such strong speculation has to be of great frustration to those on Merseyside.
