Major confusion ahead of Villa vs West Ham FA Cup tie after official websites send mixed…

Aston Villa play host to West Ham United in the FA Cup third round next month.

West Ham have had some horror draws in both cup competitions recently, and the FA Cup tie against Aston Villa was just the latest in a long line of those.

The Hammers have been drawn against Liverpool at Anfield two times in a row in the Carabao Cup over the past two years, and we faced Arsenal at home in the same competition last season as well.

The East London outfit were handed a trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United in the FA Cup fifth round in 2023.

The last time the Hammers won the FA Cup was way back in 1980, and if we are going to win the trophy again, we’ll have to do it the hard way.

Villa Park is an incredibly difficult place to go. Aston Villa have only lost twice at home this season in all competitions.

The travelling West Ham fans will be heading to the West Midlands with hope rather than expectation.

As things stand though, it remains unclear as to how many Hammers fans will be at Villa Park.

Major confusion ahead of Aston Villa vs West Ham FA Cup tie

Despite the fact that it’s an incredibly difficult draw for us, it will still be a really exciting occasion for the travelling Hammers fans.

Villa Park is a fantastic old ground, and it’s a great place to visit if you ever get the chance.

However, confusion reigns right now surrounding the away ticket allocation for the match.

That’s because both official websites are providing contrasting information.

The Hammers site suggests we have a 5,674 ticket allocation whilst the official Villa website claims they have given us the full 6,500 which equates to 15% of the Villa Park capacity, as highlighted by Sean Whetstone.

So something’s clearly not right here.

Is it just a matter of a simple mix up or are the Hammers keeping back tickets for corporate bigwigs? I really hope it’s the former.

I would like to think that this will get addressed sooner rather than later, because the travelling fans need clarification either way.

I won’t hold my breath though…
