Carlos Soler has started to grow into his role at West Ham throughout his loan spell and the Irons need to make his deal permanent.

The Spaniard endured a tough start to life at the London Stadium, seeing limited game time but performances have improved massively in recent weeks and he has shown his worth.

Soler recently opened up on life at West Ham, describing the area as “magnificent” while hinting that he would like to extend his stay.

An update from Fichajes (11 December) emerged earlier in the week stating that Real Sociedad want to sign him and that interest should force the Hammers into a decision on his future.

West Ham would be silly to allow Soler departure

It is fair to say that a lot of the concerns over the squad can be written off with Julen Lopetegui’s inability to motivate his side and get the best out of them.

However, even with that, Soler has started to flourish in recent weeks and showcase the high level of ability that has been associated with him throughout his career.

West Ham need to add to their squad, not disassemble it and the Irons will struggle to replace Soler with a player of similar quality for the price tag that PSG have set on the Spaniard, which is believed to be around £20million (TEAMtalk).

His permanent addition seems a no-brainer and failure to obtain that would be a massive missed opportunity for the club.

Soler’s comments showcase his happiness at the club although he will have to sacrifice a late sunset if he is to remain with the Hammers.
