Over the past few days, several claims from the Brazilian media have stated West Ham United’s Luizão wants to return to Brazil in the winter market.
Two days ago, Rádio Inferno and Globo Esporte reported SC Internacional are looking to sign the centre-back. It was also stated the Hammers are ready to let him leave on a loan deal with an option to buy.
Revista Colorada, a website dedicating its coverage to the Brazilian club, got in touch with the West Ham player’s agent, Wagner Trentin, to find out about Internacional’s links.
The agent has confirmed Internacional are one of the clubs to have made an approach for the 22-year-old. Trentin has also said Julen Lopetegui’s side are open to letting his client leave in January.
“We’ve had enquiries from various clubs in Brazil, including Inter [Internacional]. But we don’t have anything official from any club, just enquiries about interest and salary. Today West Ham are loaning him out with an option to buy,” he said.
The representative hasn’t provided the details of other clubs but insists Luizão will favour a move to Internacional, if they were to convert their interest into an offer.
“But who wouldn’t want to play for Inter? Today we’re more for the clubs than for ourselves,” Trentin explained.
“Inter actually approached us in the last window and didn’t make a move, there was another preference. But we’re open, if Inter make it official we won’t waste any time.”
On Thursday, Bolavip in Brazil reported Grêmio and Bahia are also showing interest in the Brazilian.
West Ham haven’t provided Luizão an opportunity to represent their senior team since he arrived at the club from São Paulo in January 2023.
