“8 hours fly, no goal” - Chelsea star aims hilarious dig at Pedro Neto after winger fails to score in 3-1 win over Astana

Chelsea star Axel Disasi has mocked Pedro Neto for failing to score against Astana in the Conference League on Thursday (12 December). The Blues have rediscovered some of their best form this season under Enzo Maresca, having endured turbulence over the past few campaigns.

The west Londoners are sat second in the Premier League table, four points off league-leaders Liverpool. Meanwhile, they lead the Conference League standings by two points, having won all their matches so far.

Their fifth win came against Astana this week as they traveled eight hours to Kazakhstan for their Conference League group-stage encounter. Maresca fielded a team that included a host of changes from their regular XI, though a few familiar faces like Neto and Disasi featured in the lineup.

Marc Guiu opened the scoring in the 14th minute before doubling Chelsea's lead just five minutes later, though his second was registered as an own-goal from Aleksandr Marochkin.

Guiu had a touch on Pedro Neto's assist from the right wing but the ball deflected off Marochkin and into the back of the net. Renato Veiga's header in the 40th minute completed a 3-1 victory for the Blues.

After the game, Neto posted a picture of himself on the pitch on Instagram, and Disasi couldn't help but aim a hilarious dig at his teammate. The French defender commented (via The Chelsea Chronicle):

"8 hours fly, No goal."

The Blues will next face Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday (15 December).

Chris Sutton makes prediction for Chelsea vs Brentford

BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton has tipped the west Londoners for victory at Stamford Bridge against Brentford on Sunday, December 15. He insists that the Bees will struggle against an in-form Chelsea side, especially with Cole Palmer at the top of his game.

The Blues secured an emphatic comeback win against Tottenham Hotspur away last weekend. Slips on separate occasions from Marc Cucurella saw Chelsea go 2-0 down within the first 11 minutes.

However, Jadon Sancho brought one back in the first half before two penalties from Cole Palmer and a goal from Enzo Fernandez in the second period put the Blues 4-2 up. Son Heung-min found the back of the net in stoppage time but to no avail.

Giving his predictions for this weekend's fixture, Sutton wrote in his BBC column:

"I really admire the job Thomas Frank has done with Brentford because under him they have evolved as a team, and grown as a club. But this is another pretty obvious prediction, because the Bees are awesome at home and useless away."

"I really can't see past a Chelsea win here, with Cole Palmer's Panenka penalty against Tottenham illustrating how high their confidence is. The way they are playing, they are definitely title contenders no matter how many times their manager Enzo Maresca denies it."
