'I think': Arne Slot confirms two Liverpool players are back in contention to play against Fulham tomorrow

Liverpool are set to take on Fulham at Anfield tomorrow in what promises to be an intriguing Premier League contest.

Both sides come into the game on the back of draws in their previous league encounters and will look to pip one another for all three points.

Liverpool dropped two points in the Premier League title race last time out as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Newcastle United, while Fulham played well to secure a point against Arsenal.

And Arne Slot has just delivered a positive injury update ahead of the visit of Fulham.

Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa trained away from the Liverpool squad initially yesterday, but as the day went on, the pair were spotted joining the rest of the team at the AXA Training Centre.

Chiesa missed the clash against Girona due to illness in a game that was supposed to be his comeback, while Jota has been missing for over a month after picking up a rib injury against Chelsea.

When quizzed about the two players, the Dutchman confirmed that they are both fully fit, although he didn’t say for sure if they will be included in the matchday squad.

“I think they are [available],” said Slot in his pre-match press conference.

“We have one training session to go. Federico missed quite a lot for a long time and was ill last week, so we have to wait and see how he’s doing.

“But maybe Diogo is in the squad and maybe Federico as well, but it depends on the numbers we have in the squad and how he’s returned from his illness.”

Liverpool’s current injury list

While Chiesa and Jota are back, Liverpool still have a few injury issues to deal with.

The likes of Ibrahima Konate, Conor Bradley and Kostas Tsimikas are still sidelines, although the latter was spotted at the training ground yesterday as he continues to step up his return.

Konate was also seen in the training ground and was pictured without his knee brace, which is a good sign for the Reds.

Nonetheless, Slot has a strong squad to choose from and is unlikely to make too many changes to the team that started against Girona in midweek.
