Ernest Nuamah could help save Sean Dyche’s job if Everton sign him in the January transfer window.

It has been an up-and-down season for the Toffees summed up by their 4-0 defeat against Manchester United being followed by a 4-0 win against Wolves.

In a view to be more consistent, the winter window could prove to be a pivotal point to change the tide for the final months of the season.

Bringing in a player to act as a point of difference going forward could prove to be exactly what the manager needs to save his job.

The ex-Burnley boss has come under pressure in recent months and could lose his job regardless of form when Dan Friedkin comes in.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

The job for the 53-year-old is now to perform to a level that the prospective new owner can’t ignore and the signing of Nuamah could help to do that.

Everton have maintained their interest in the 21-year-old since the summer with the January window opening in just three weeks [Foot Mercato].

The versatile winger did agree terms on a move to Goodison before the proposed deal stalled [Sunday People], so there is clearly real interest there.

Nuamah would provide electric pace and directness which the Toffees don’t truly have in their squad right now with Iliman Ndiaye arguably the closest in terms of play style.

The Goodison faithful have been begging for someone with speed in the squad for years and the Ghana international could provide exactly that.

This point of difference could have a telling impact on the rest of the season as it would allow Dyche to utilise different wide men to suit different opposition.

There is every chance that the Lyon man could get in behind Premier League defences and have a telling impact by scoring and providing goals.
