Newcastle United's players are starting to fight back at the media's obsession with unsettling our stars and we're loving it.
Earlier this week Sandro Tonali's agent released a statement rubbishing reports coming out of Italy that Tonali is unhappy and wants to move back home.
The Italian press have had a hard time accepting Tonali's move to Newcastle United and seem determined to undermine it at any given opportunity. It was so refreshing to see a player's agent come out and get ahead of the story before it snowballed, there hasn't been enough of that when it comes to Newcastle's players.
Now Anthony Gordon has hit out at the constant reports which served to unsettle him at the club in an interview with Sky Sports.

Anthony Gordon has asked the media to let him get on with his job
Anthony Gordon had been linked with a move to Liverpool over the summer and while the truth is that the suggestion had been floated for a brief second when the club were assessing ways of beating PSR, there was never any real intent there, from either side, but the media would not relent.
As a result, Gordon's form has suffered and in turn so has the team's. It is a similar story with Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak who are constantly linked with moves away from Newcastle, but Gordon has put his foot down and stated clearly his intentions to stay at Newcastle.
“I’ve had a lot this year about my future, where I’m going, where I want to go – without anyone actually asking me
“It’s all a bit… Just leave me to play football! I just want to be happy [and] play football. I love being here, I’ve said it plenty of times. With the speculation, people assume that it’s all correct, when you’ve not heard from me once that I’m unhappy at this place.
“I love everyone here, I love playing football here. That was all that was.”

Newcastle's big stars have all been linked with moves away despite being happy
Gordon went on to admit that the speculation had distracted him from his football and even spoke on behalf of Bruno and Isak who have gone through a similar thing.
“It has [frustrated me]. It’s took me away from enjoying my football this year and I think that is where the inconsistency has come from because I’ve got caught in that a little bit. But I just want to play football - especially for Newcastle.
“Yeah, I’d totally agree because you’re only human and I’m only 23. All I’ve heard is ‘when is he leaving’ - who said I was ever going to leave?
“I’m very, very happy here, I love this place and playing football here and I think Alex and Bruno probably think the same thing.
“We’re all young, human beings so if people are talking about that then it questions our character. It’s hard.”
Get 'em told, Anthony! It won't make a blind bit of difference as journalists still have their job to do, but it is good to see some resistance. Now hopefully, the lads can take something from this and move on and get back to playing their best.
