Sean Dyche details Jack Harrison "pressure" as woeful form away from Leeds United continues

Leeds United winger Jack Harrison is having a horrid time during his second loan spell at Everton this season, and Sean Dyche has commented on his situation.

When Leeds failed to secure promotion back to the Premier League, Jack Harrison saw his opportunity to stay out on loan and took it with a second stint at Everton agreed.

The Toffees are in their final season at Goodison Park, but find themselves again looking over their shoulder at the relegation battle rather than looking for anything more ambitious.

“Pressure” – Sean Dyche comments on Jack Harrison form

Harrison’s decision to stay put on Merseyside has largely backfired so far this season, yet to get a goal or assist for the Toffees in 15 appearances.

His form has prompted major frustration amongst the fans watching on, and manager Sean Dyche is aware of his struggles too.

Speaking ahead of a daunting trip to Arsenal this Saturday, Dyche commented on Harrison’s poor form (via Everton):

“He is still working hard, he’s a very honest professional, and just trying to find those moments for him because I think he works so hard in training. He’s so honest and if anything he’s a player, and I’ve had this with Dwight McNeil, that puts too much pressure on themselves.

“Sometimes you’ve got to release that and maybe there’s a bit of that when he gets out there, to find that enjoyment in what it is and not get so tight, especially in the top third of the pitch.

“There’s no two ways about it because if you look at his past, his stats, his facts, he is capable of goals and assists. Our job is to free him up and find the role that he can find more of them from. He works very hard and is a top professional and a very important part of the group.”

Chances of Harrison, Everton permanent deal looking vanishingly slim

Leeds fans justifiably will not care one bit that Harrison is playing poorly at Everton, because he has burned his bridges with this club.

What we have to consider, though, is that we now have an asset on the books until the summer of 2028 that is depreciating by the week.

I’d be amazed if Everton were still thinking Harrison is a worthwhile signing beyond this loan agreement, but the worry is whether any club would take the gamble.
