Dan Bardell believes the Premier League’s approval of the Friedkin Group’s takeover at Everton draws a line under the lengthy ownership saga.

The US businessman finally looks set to take over at Goodison Park after receiving the green light in a moment that has been described as “huge” for the Toffees [Sky Sports].

Dan Friedkin now looks set to acquire a 94.1 per cent shareholding from Farhad Moshiri to round off a deal which was initially agreed in September.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has suggested that this gives the Merseyside club a chance to start fresh after trying times in recent years.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Bardell said: “It’s been a long drawn-out process.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

“There’s been complications in terms of other clubs owned by the group so it has made everything a more drawn-out affair.

“Now that it’s happening, Everton fans know where they are at, that’s been the problem over the last few years, you never knew what was coming next.

“They just need some stability and with this ownership change, they’ll change stadium and it’s a chance to start fresh.

“It’s big news. They’ve been in limbo for so long and the Premier League giving it the ok just draws the line under everything.

“*Fans can relax knowing they’re going to have a new owner and look ahead to a positive new era.*“

It now looks like Friedkin is going to be the head of the table on the blue side of Merseyside in what can only be perceived as a positive move after months of instability.
