Report: Bayern Munich and PSG battling for Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen

Bayern Munich is reported to be actively looking for a replacement goalkeeper for Manuel Neuer with his current crop of deputies — Sven Ulreich, Alexander Nübel, and Daniel Peretz — perhaps all not on the level required at Bayern. Therefore, Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen is on their radar:

In October, we reported on it in our Transfer Update show and now it’s confirmed: Bart #Verbruggen from @OfficialBHAFC is a goalkeeper FC Bayern are monitoring closely in case the plan with Manuel Neuer and Alexander Nübel does not work out.

– Reported by Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal)

Bayern do have company, as French club Paris Saint-Germain is also in the mix for another goalkeeper to challenge or even replace the inconsistent Gianluigi Donnarumma (4-1 Newcastle United) and Matvei Safonov who isn’t there just yet (via PSGtalk). Both clubs have goalkeeper problems and now they’re looking for the next man up to guard the sticks. If Verbruggen wants to win trophies, he’ll know where to go.
