Newcastle United simply cannot afford to sack Eddie Howe.
While pressure is mounting after a series of inconsistent performances, Eddie Howe is the right man for Newcastle United.
The work he has done since arriving at St James’ Park is incredible, and he deserves the chance to ride out this storm.
Alan Shearer wants Howe to continue as Newcastle manager, with the 47-year-old desperately needing help from those above him. However, that will be difficult, with PSR limiting the Magpies’ ability to strengthen their squad with new signings.
Newcastle know that the lack of recruitment is hindering them, but there is not much they can do to change that unless players are sold.

Sacking Eddie Howe would cost Newcastle a lot of money
Newcastle need to sell before they buy due to PSR, and that is another reason why the Magpies cannot afford to relieve Howe of his duties.
According to the Telegraph, it would cost Newcastle more than £9million to sack Eddie Howe and his coaching staff right now.
With Newcastle already limited due to PSR, a £9million hit would set them back even further.

Newcastle have the type of manager they need in Eddie Howe
For financial reasons, Newcastle are not going to get rid of Howe despite this poor run of form.
But there is a bigger, more important reason why the Newcastle United owners are not going to look for a new manager – they still fully back Howe to lead the club.
The Telegraph add that no one at Newcastle United is thinking about sacking Howe, who is viewed as an ‘elite manager’ inside the corridors of power at St James’ Park.
In Howe, Newcastle have the right man for the job. Due to the restrictions of PSR, the Magpies need a manager who can work with what he has got and make players better. Financially, there is no way that Newcastle can sign players who are the finished article. It would simply be too expensive.
Since taking over on Tyneside, all Howe has done is raise standards and improve the players he is working with. He will continue to do that for the foreseeable future, as the Toon hierarchy have no plans to replace him.
