Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a fresh injury update ahead of the Premier League clash against Everton on Saturday evening.
The Gunners returned to winning ways on Wednesday with a 3-0 Champions League triumph against French outfit Monaco at home.
The margin of victory should have been bigger. Arsenal missed at least four big chances to score in the opening half of the contest.
The Gunners host the Toffees in the Premier League tomorrow and ahead of the game, Arteta has provided some team news.
The Spanish tactician said that one of Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori could be available to face the Toffees at the Emirates Stadium.
When asked to be specific, he added that Gabriel trained today and could make the game.
He told reporters: “There is a possibility with one of them to be available. He trained today. It’s Gabriel.
“We’re just respecting the times that the medical department has set. We [Calafiori] monitor him every day.”
Arsenal failed to beat Fulham on the road last weekend. The Gunners are now six points behind league leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand.
The London giants have no room for error going forward. Tomorrow’s game is a must-win for the Gunners to keep their slim title hopes alive.
Gabriel’s return to the starting line-up would be a huge boost for Arsenal, considering his dominating presence on both ends of the playing field.
Jakub Kiwior has fared well in Gabriel’s absence alongside William Saliba, but the centre-back has been prone to positional errors which can be avoidable.

Arteta has not ruled out Calafiori’s return tomorrow. The Italian may require a late fitness test to find out whether he can start against Sean Dyche’s side.
