Real Madrid face competition from three European giants for top defensive target

Real Madrid are always looking to reinforce their squad with the best players from all over the world. The club has arguably the best attacking trio in the world after years of patient recruiting, the attacking trio of Vinicius Jr, Kylian Mbappe and Rodrygo are finally all on the same pitch playing for the same team.

However there are still places in the team that could use some reinforcements. The defense is the main area of discussion, specifically the right-back position. With Dani Carvajal starting to show the signs of age, Real Madrid are starting to asses their options for the future.

Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold has emerged as the #1 candidate to replace the Real Madrid legend. If he does not extend his current Liverpool deal, the fullback will be available on a free transfer this summer.

While this plays perfectly into Real Madrid's hands, unfortunately for Los Blancos, they have other European giants breathing down their necks over Alexander-Arnolds signature.

As being reported by Madrid Universal, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are ready to enter the battler and fight Real Madrid to secure the signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold who is out of contract in the summer.

The Liverpool fullback has been the main defensive transfer target for many months as the long term replacement for Dani Carvajal. Real Madrid have been the main landing destination should the player leave Liverpool in the summer, however that could change with other European giants joining the race.

With the fullback being available on a free transfer it is understandable that other clubs will join the race for a world class player like ALexander-Arnold. Clubs like Manchester City and PSG could offer more in salary but Real Madrid offers the chance to be the top contender for the Champions League.

It will be up to the player to decide which is more important to him when he makes his decision about his future in the coming months.
