Hamed Junior Traorè needs to avoid returning to Bournemouth or thinking about a move to Paris Saint Germain, as AS Monaco are a far more fitting destination for him.
That’s according to Ivorian journalist Olivier Kapo, who has analysed the midfielder’s future [alongside 225 Foot.](https://225foot.com/trois-options-mercato-pour-hamed-junior-traore-lavis-dun-expert-ivoirien/)
Traorè is current impressing with Auxerre in France after leaving Bournemouth on loan in the summer transfer window.
It’s his second successive loan deal away from Bournemouth, who he joined in a €26m deal from Sassuolo in July 2023. He failed to settle on the south coast, with a bout of malaria not making matters easy either, so was sent to Napoli in January this year.
There were bright spots in Italy for him but they avoided a permanent deal and so he was sent to Auxerre this summer, where he’s managed six goals, and one assists in 12 games in all competitions to date.
That’s led to plenty of talk about his future, with a growing list of suitors in France including the likes of PSG and Monaco. The possibility of a return to Bournemouth has also been floated but Kapo believes only a move to the Principality makes sense for the 24-year-old.
“AS Monaco is a playful team that has been competing for the leading roles for several seasons in France,” he said.
“This club would go well with Hamed Junior Traorè who can face the competition and find a starting place. He will also have the possibility of playing in the Champions League or other European competitions. It would be a good destination, especially if coach Adi Hutter really wants it.
“I don’t think Paris Saint-Germain can be an ideal setting for Traorè’s development. The club already has Désiré Doué who has encountered adaptation difficulties.
“Will Paris also guarantee him playing time? Traorè needs to make sure of this in the event of a concrete offer, but I would prefer to see him in a team like Monaco where he will have more freedom on the pitch.
“Traorè should stay in France where he is starting to get used to the championship. It is preferable to continue in this league and hope to play in a European competition, which Bournemouth cannot guarantee.
“A return to England, I think, is not ideal for the rest of his career. But I would advise him to think carefully and make the best decision.”
