One West Ham United player will almost certainly leave the club in the January transfer window.
The upcoming January window will be a vitally important one for West Ham.
Whether Julen Lopetegui is still in charge at the London Stadium is immaterial really.
Tim Steidten will have his eyes on certain targets already, but the German absolutely must shift some of the deadwood on from the club first.
Lopetegui is being heavily linked with the sack, and he could be on his way within 72 hours if the Hammers lose to Bournemouth.

Hopefully he is sacked before it’s too late – then West Ham can start to make some real progress.
And in order to do that, we need to get rid of some players who are quite simply nowhere near the level required to succeed in the Premier League.

There are a few candidates for the chop this winter.
MORE WEST HAM STORIES
None more so than Brazilian defender Luizao who is being heavily linked with a return to his homeland.
I’m hoping we are able to move him on, because he’s clearly not good enough to play first-team football.
Luizao has been with us for nearly two years now, and has only played under-21 football.

Luizao’s agent Wagner Trentin spoke to Revista Colorada and insisted that his client will leave the London Stadium in January.
He said, “We’ve had enquiries from various clubs in Brazil, including Inter [Internacional]. But we don’t have anything official from any club, just enquiries about interest and salary. Today West Ham are loaning him out with an option to buy.“
Fingers crossed we’re able to get a decent loan fee for Luizao.
Preferably, West Ham will be able to sell him on a permanent deal in the January window.
Only time will tell if we’re able to get a fee for the 22-year-old though.
