Southampton manager Russell Martin has sent a January transfer price warning for Newcastle United target Tyler Dibling.

Eddie Howe and Newcastle have been interested in the teenage star for some time now. Dibling emerged as a target when he scored a hat-trick for Southampton's 4-2 Premier League 2 win over the Magpies in April 2022 at St James' Park.

Soon after, Chelsea came in to take the attacking midfielder to Stamford Bridge. However, Dibling was not long for life in west London as he retuned to St Mary's later on in the year.

The 18-year-old has managed to break into the first-team since his return. He has made 21 appearances in all competitions, 14 of which have come in the Premier League.

Dibling is a versatile player that can play across the three attacking midfield positions. He has impressed several times this term, scoring his first professional goal against Ipswich Town in September.

Since becoming a regular in Southampton's Premier League squad, numerous clubs have been reportedly interested in the starlet. Alongside Newcastle, Manchester United, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are all after the services of the highly-coveted player.

Saints boss Martin has made it clear that they have no intentions of accepting rumoured bids of around £21 million in January. The under pressure manager spoke about the interest in Dibling in his pre-match press conference ahead of their fixture against Tottenham on Sunday,

“I was told some rumours about Man Utd, one was a bid of £21m," Martin said. “I’m not sure you’ll get his left foot for that.”
