While West Ham United fans may not have any idea who defender Luizão is, it appears that’s definitely not the case back in Brazil.
That’s at least if the growing reports around the defender are anything to go by, as the [Brazilian edition of GOAL](https://www.goal.com/br/listas/zagueiro-ex-sao-paulo-oferecido-atletico-mg/blt8278788a3b1f8e88#csbfabaaadf6f02b9f) add another name to the list of suitors today.
They report that the West Ham defender has been offered to Atlético-MG for next season and approved by the club’s football director Victor Bagy.
According to their information he ‘approved the name’ and presented it to the other members of the club’s football department. That has led to the Minas Gerais club considering a move for the West Ham man, even though they haven’t decided on their coach for next season.
The Brazilian side are now waiting for the board at the club, who are in charge of sporting matters, to approve the deal fully before moving forward on negotiations with West Ham.
Any talks would be for the defender to arrive on loan from West Ham, provided that Atlético-MG pays his wages and there is a purchase option at the end of the deal.
West Ham would accept such a deal for the player, who has failed to break into the first team after arriving in January 2023.
Reports throughout this week have indicated he’s keen to return to Brazil and Atlético-MG have now seemingly joined the growing list of admirers thinking about a move.
