Barcelona learn result of Hansi Flick ban appeal

The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona have on Friday been informed of the outcome of their appeal against the recent red card shown to manager Hansi Flick.

That’s according to **[Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20241213/1002370484/apelacion-desestima-recurso-barca-expulsion-flick.html)**, who have confirmed that as much has fallen short.

Tactician Flick was for his part given his marching orders for the first time since making the move to Spain last Saturday.

En route to Barcelona’s 2-2 La Liga draw with Real Betis, the German was dismissed midway through the 2nd-half, after protesting against the decision to award a penalty against his side.

As per the referee’s report, Flick was shown a red card ‘for leaving the technical area shouting and gesticulating, protesting one of my decisions’.

He was hit with a two-game suspension as a result.

Ahead of a key upcoming stretch of fixtures, those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou in turn launched an appeal, in an effort to have the sanction overturned.

As per the aforementioned MD, however:

‘This Friday the Appeals Court ratified the decision of the RFEF Disciplinary Committee after Flick was sent sent off by Muñiz Ruiz.’

Barcelona, as a result, will be without their head coach for upcoming La Liga meetings with both Leganés, and Atlético Madrid.
