The agent of Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio has claimed that his client turned down a move to Liverpool in the summer, telling Italian newspapers that the Reds were keen on signing him. The 27-year-old turned in an excellent performance in the Old Lady's 2-0 victory over Manchester City in midweek.

Di Gregorio moved to Juventus in July on an initial season-long loan from Monzo, with an option to make the move permanent in 2025. He's since kept nine clean sheets in 15 matches with the Serie A giants.

Liverpool were linked with the Di Gregorio in the summer, but instead opted to keep both Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher, while signing Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia in a deal that sees him join the club in 2025.

And his representative, Carlo Alberto Belloni, says that Liverpool were indeed interested in signing the goalkeeper. However, that proposed move did not come to fruition.

He told Tuttosport, as cited by Sports Witness: "Surely Manchester City fans will remember his saves for a long time? In the summer, however, we said no to Liverpool to marry the Juventus project.

"I'm really happy that Michele has demonstrated all his value at international level, too. Some matches are special and his performance against Manchester City is one to remember.

"If I think back to when he played in Serie C, I get emotional. He earned everything with talent and hard work; I'm proud of him."
