Wrexham are gearing up for a League One meeting with Cambridge United on December 14th.
Wrexham are flying high in League One this season, currently vying for automatic promotion alongside the likes of Birmingham City and Wycombe Wanderers.
Their most recent league outing saw them secure a 1-0 win over Burton Albion – a result that moved them level on points with first-place Wycombe.
Next on the agenda for Phil Parkinson and co. is a meeting with Cambridge United at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday, December 14th.
Wrexham are in top form right now, having won their last five matches in all competitions without conceding a single goal.
The club do, however, have a few issues going into the match that could impact Parkinson’s selection decisions on the day.
Speaking to the media ahead of the Cambridge game, the Wrexham manager detailed fresh injury concerns but would not name specific players.

Wrexham youngster training with first-team before Cambridge United
The Red Dragons’ injury list had already begun to mount following the losses of Callum Burton and James Jones in the last few weeks.
MORE WREXHAM STORIES
In turn, any fresh blows picked up ahead of Cambridge will be major blows and will deplete Wrexham’s squad even further.
Brad Foster arrived last week on a short-term deal to provide cover for Mark Howard between the sticks.
But it appears Parkinson is now looking to his young stars to help plug the gaps outfield.
Before Cambridge, the club shared a number of training photos on their official Instagram account, one of which included Harry Ashfield.
Harry Ashfield compared to Andres Iniesta by Wrexham teammate Ryan Barnett
Ashfield is 18 years of age and a product of Wrexham’s academy.
His senior debut for the club came in 2023 versus Crewe and he has since made a further three appearances in 2024/25.
All of those outings have come in the EFL Trophy, with Wrexham teammate Ryan Barnett comparing Ashfield to FC Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta after his starring display in a win over Wolverhampton Wanderers’ U21 team in October.
The teenager is, of course, a central midfielder by trade, perhaps suggesting one of the aforementioned injury blows has come in the middle of the park.
