Arsenal looking to extend all-time English football winning record in Everton Premier League clash

Arsenal will attempt to extend an English football record when they welcome Everton to the Emirates for Saturday's Premier League clash.

The Gunners are set to turn their focus back to domestic action after they swept past Monaco in their midweek Champions League outing.

Bukayo Saka netted a brace alongside a Kai Havertz effort to fire Arsenal to a comfortable 3-0 victory, moving them into third position in the league phase.

While they will be pleased with that position in the Champions League, they will be a little frustrated to be in third place in the Premier League table, especially as they are six points adrift leaders Liverpool, who have the advantage of a game in hand.

After being held to a 1-1 draw by Fulham last weekend, the Gunners know they can ill-afford to drop more points in Saturday's home meeting with Everton.

Arsenal looking to extend record unbeaten run against Everton

Arsenal will certainly take confidence from the fact they have recorded 102 victories in their 205 meetings with the Toffees, making it an English football record for the most wins recorded by any club against a single opponent.

The Gunners also boast the record for the most Premier League goals scored against a single opponent, having racked up 124 goals in 64 meetings with Everton in the competition's history.

Arsenal netted a couple of those goals in their most recent head-to-head meeting in May, with Takehiro Tomiyasu and Havertz finding the net in a 2-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium.

That narrow win represented the ninth victory Arsenal have recorded in their last 10 Premier League home games against the Toffees (D1).

Their only home defeat in that period took place in April 2021 when a Bernd Leno own goal proved to be the difference between the two sides.

Gunners targeting club record

Arsenal are also closing in on a club-scoring record after racking up 83 goals in 33 Premier League matches in 2024.

As a result, Mikel Arteta's side need just three goals in their next three games to equal the club record of 86 for the most Premier League goals scored in a calendar year.

The Gunners also have the chance to achieve another scoring record, having showcased their efficiency from corners in recent times.

Arsenal scored from corners in each of their last three Premier League matches against West Ham United, Manchester United and Fulham.

They are now on the brink of becoming the first team in Premier League history to score from a corner in four consecutive matches.
