Manchester United will be in the market for a new striker in the summer.
There’s a heavy reliance on Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee has not hit the ground running since joining from Bologna last summer.
In the summer, United waved goodbye to Anthony Martial as patience wore thin with the injury-prone Frenchman.
Scoring goals has continued to be an issue for Manchester United this season, and it was one of the factors that led to Erik ten Hag’s dismissal.
This means United are going to be linked with strikers between now and the end of the season.
From Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres to RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, United are being touted with interest in several options, including some from the Premier League.

Matheus Cunha happy at Wolves despite Manchester United interest
Wolves forward Matheus Cunha is being touted with a move away from Molineux.
With 10 goalscoring contributions (7 goals, 3 assists) this season, it’s easy to see why top clubs are being linked with Brazilian.

United have been linked with a move Cunha, but it sounds like Wolves are doing a good job keeping him happy – with help from their fans.
Cunha told the Wolves official website that their supporters have helped make Molineux feel like home.
“I feel like it’s my home. I feel the admiration of the fans, and this is something that I never believed I would get when I first came here, to a small city in England, which is completely different from my hometown – but now I feel like I’m at home.
“The fans are unbelievable with me, with my family, and I have only great things to say about my teammates. But to go to the stadium and to perform for them is like I feel at home.
“I feel like I want to do everything I can to change the situation, because when you play with a little bit more passion, not as if it was just my work, then I think you put in a little bit more things that can change it.”
Wolves may be relegation contenders but Cunha doesn’t sound like a player trying to engineer a move.
How Cunha compares to Rashford and Hojlund
Wolves getting relegated is something that could play nicely into United’s hands.
Although it seems harsh to wish relegation on another club, it could be a way for United to take advantage of a fire sale at Wolves.
Wolves haven’t got many players I’d take at United – but Cunha is already on the club’s radar, so a relegation scrap could lead to a marriage of convenience.

United need goals and Cunha is unlikely to turn down a move to the biggest club in the world.
Cunha outscored both Rashford and Hojlund in the Premier League last season.
