Is Ollie Watkins fit to start for Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest? Injury news latest and FPL…

Ollie Watkins celebrates a goal.

Ollie Watkins has been nursing an injury problem for Aston Villa.

Aston Villa will make a late call on whether Ollie Watkins is fit to feature in Saturday's Premier League clash at Nottingham Forest (5.30pm).

England international Watkins was replaced by Jhon Duran at half-time of Tuesday's Champions League victory over RB Leipzig.

However, the "small injury" Watkins suffered has placed his involvement in Villa's upcoming game into doubt, with Unai Emery admitting in his pre-match press conference on Friday that a late decision would be made on whether he could feature against Forest this weekend.

What has been said about Ollie Watkins' injury?

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Emery said: "After the training session, we are going to decide how the players are.

"Yesterday was a recovery session and some players rested. Today we are going to try and train to know how we are after a period of four matches."

Pushed on Watkins' possible availability, Emery said: "I don't know. In case he's training and feeling good, then he will be available tomorrow."

Will Ollie Watkins be fit to face Nottingham Forest in GW15?

Fantasy Premier League currently gives Watkins a 75 per cent chance of being deemed fit for this weekend's clash at the City Ground.

The 28-year-old has been one of Villa's best performers this season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 15 Premier League games so far - highlighting his worth online and in real life.

But if Watkins is not fit enough to start, then Emery will be able to call on Duran, whose astonishing strike-rate has him averaging a goal every 80 minutes this season.
