The Friedkin Group will face no issues from the Premier League when seeking approval for their Everton takeover, senior sources close to the situation have told Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported via its website [13 December] that the potential new owners have nothing to worry about in their rubber-stamped approval from the Premier League’s owners and directors test.

This comes after Sky Sports’ update that the Toffees are officially set to be taken over by the Friedkins, but it appears there are still hoops left to jump through before Farhad Moshiri gives up his controlling stake.

Before Christmas is still the expected timeline for the deal to be completed at Goodison Park.

Friedkin Group set to become new Everton owners in coming days

Evertonians are finally getting close to their dreams becoming reality, with the Friedkin Group’s takeover just days away after the most recent updates.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

Of course, that will come hand in hand with multiple changes on Merseyside and one of those could be Sean Dyche, who is struggling at the helm this season.

The Toffees sit five points above the dropzone after 15 games, winning just three league games in that time while also being knocked out of the EFL Cup by Southampton on penalties.

The Friedkins are clearly not afraid to make changes, proven by their switch of managers at AS Roma earlier this season, and that could be bad news for the current man in charge at Everton.

Everton Goodison Park

The future remains unclear at Goodison Park

With the future move to Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium on the horizon, Evertonians have a lot to be positive about despite poor performances on the pitch.

If the Toffees can survive the threat of relegation, and they certainly should, the summer is when the real fun would start under the new owners and the weight of Moshiri’s reign is finally lifted.

In other Everton news, Kevin Thelwell could leave Goodison Park in 2025 but a new “game-changer” could be the perfect replacement.
