Arsenal teenage sensation Max Dowman was once again involved in first-team training ahead of the Gunners’ Premier League clash with Everton at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday as per Arsenal youth expert Jeorge Bird. At just 14 years old, Dowman has already made waves within Arsenal’s youth setup and beyond, earning a reputation as one of the brightest young talents in European football.
Dowman, who recently made his Under-21 debut in a match against Brighton, has also been a standout performer in this season’s UEFA Youth League. Playing alongside older and physically stronger teammates, the precocious playmaker has showcased remarkable skill and maturity, prompting Arsenal to fast-track his development.
However, the Gunners are facing a battle to secure Dowman’s long-term future. Rival Premier League clubs have reportedly approached his family, expressing interest in the teenager. With Arsenal unable to offer Dowman a scholarship contract until he turns 16, the club is keen to demonstrate a clear pathway to the first team.

Mikel Arteta is reportedly open to including Dowman in a matchday squad before the end of the season, signalling the manager’s willingness to nurture young talent. This season, Arteta has already given opportunities to Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly, suggesting a shift in his approach to integrating youth players.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are preparing to host Everton on Saturday as they aim to reclaim their place among the Premier League’s top two. The Gunners, currently third in the league standings, are coming off a commanding Champions League victory over Monaco.
Mikel Arteta’s side hopes to build on that momentum after a frustrating Premier League draw against Fulham, where a late Bukayo Saka winner was ruled out by VAR. A win over Everton could see Arsenal leapfrog Chelsea in the table, provided other results go their way.
Sean Dyche’s Everton, sitting 15th in the league, will enter the clash fresh from an unexpected break after last weekend’s Merseyside Derby was postponed due to Storm Darragh. With a four-point cushion above the relegation zone, the Toffees will be eager to cause an upset at the Emirates.
