Durán was on the verge of leaving Aston Villa this summer, but it now looks like he’ll be staying. Even though he’s not the No. 1 striker, it appears that the player’s content with his role in the squad.
The Colombian played a key role in Villa’s vital UEFA Champions League victory at RB Leipzig this week and shared his thoughts with the club’s media afterward.
“I’m just happy to be here,” Durán said (h/tThe Mirror). “I actually love the competition I have going with Ollie Watkins. When it’s my turn, I will step up, and hopefully I can score and help the team.”
Durán is under contract until 2030and has a transfer value of €35 million perTransfermarkt. Nonetheless, that amount should be increasing considering the player’s performance this seasonas he’s scored ten goals in 23 appearances across all competitions.
