All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Chelsea as they prepare to face Brentford.

Chelsea are now preparing for a clash with Brentford on Sunday after their awkward trip to face Astana in the Europa League on Thursday night, albeit the senior stars did not travel. The Blues have been on fire lately, and they have forced their way into the title race as a result.

Brentford will be a big test, though, with the Bees having enjoyed an excellent start to the season themselves. As the Blues plot a route to three points, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Stamford Bridge.

Davies interest

Chelsea are said to hold an interest in Bayern Munich full-back Alphonso Davies. The Athletic say the Blues are among a crowd of clubs showing an interest, with Davies out of contract this summer as things stand.

Davies has made 12 Bundesliga appearances this season, and he could yet get a contract offer, but as things stand, clubs outside Germany can agree a pre-contract agreement with him from January 1. Davies could provide competition for Marc Cucurella at left-back, with Ben Chilwell set to depart in the not too distant future. Although, if Davies becomes available on a free transfer, he will surely have a number of options.

Chukwuemeka interest

Former scout Mick Brown believes there is interested in Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, who appears destined for a loan departure in January amid limited play time.

“There is definitely interest in January, yes,” Brown told Football Insider. “But I’m told there are doubts among Premier League sides about whether he could make a significant impact given his lack of experience at the top level. That’s the thing with a loan move, which this would likely be in January, clubs want immediate impact. These teams have been tracking his progress and will have an idea about his current level.”
